Goldcrest - 4 of 4
I’m back in my bird era with this lil goldcrest floof.
I’m lucky enough to be able to see these lil beauts at my local nature reserve and I just adore them. Only about 9cm long, I’ve made these pictures life sized to show how teeny and delicate they are.
Made from trash collected on Sussex beach cleans, including an ice cream wrapper, fishing nets, fishing line, string, fishing nylon cord, washed up fabrics, crisp wrapper, cable tie, strap packaging, fishing bead, a sock, disposable coffee cup lid and a scrap of the jumper from my last post.
I was inspired by a stunner of a picture by Ben Lucas, @ben_inthewild on insta (scroll to see). Fellow nature nerds, you definitely want to be following him. The dude is only 16 and is already taking beautiful shots like this! I’m sure I’ll be making pics from his photos again very soon. Thank you, Ben, for sharing your work on insta.
This little guy is framed in a 20x15cm open frame, no glass so you can enjoy the textures and floofiness, ready to hang.
Each art work is created from beach plastics and rubbish collected on beach cleans and is therefore unique.
