'Goring Pride' Rainbow beach plastic coral
A rainbow coral made from hundreds of pieces of plastics collected during beach cleans at Goring, West Sussex.
This coral celebrates the colours, diversity and vibrancy of nature, bleaching out to white to represent the harm we are causing our ocean.
These plastics were collected over two Goring post-storm beach cleans. During stormy weather all the old trash is lifted from the seabed and washed ashore. I like to think of it as the sea spitting it all out and throwing it back at us. This piece includes cotton bud sticks, fishing gear, security tags, plastic straws, plastic bottle lids, nerf gun pellets, balloons and ribbons, worn and weathered plastics and fabrics. All now safely away from the sea and turned from trash into something to treasure.
*10% will be donated to Sussex Seabed Restoration Project* working to restore the kelp across our Sussex coast.
Framed in a white 20cm box frame, ready to hang.
