The waddle gang beach trash penguins

Meet the waddle crew! A little huddle of penguins made from trash collected on Sussex beach cleans, including disposable food trays, a leather glove, sailing ropes, chocolate and crisp wrappers, cable ties, plastic straws, a gnarly piece of plastic bottle and a sushi fish. 

I love making art from beach trash. Each piece has its own story before it gets to me, I’m just adding to its journey. Like these disposable food trays; they are left on the beach all the time and often get attacked by seagulls before we get to them. Their beak-jabbing   has made some brilliant patterns in the trays that look perfect for penguin landscapes. Who knew that seagulls could help me make snow scenes? 

These little dudes are mounted on an A4 sized box canvas.

Each art work is created from beach plastics and rubbish collected on beach cleans and is therefore unique.
