Winter owls beach trash art workshop & mini safari @Knepp

Join me in the beautiful setting of Knepp for an owl workshop and mini dusk safari.

This workshop is a fundraiser for the White Stork Project, with 50% of the ticket price going directly to the project, raising money for their ongoing research into stork behaviour and reintroduction. Laura, the White Stork Project manager, will be joining us and taking us on a mini dusk safari at the start of the evening. We'll be venturing into an area not usually open to the public to see if we can hear, and maybe get a glimpse of, the resident owls as well as Knepp's deer, bats and moths. Laura will be ready with her best owl facts and her very worst owl puns and be inspired to create our own pictures of these beautiful birds.

After the mini safari we will head back to The Granary building in the Knepp Estate to have a cuppa and settle in for an evening of creative fun. We will be making owls from discarded fishing gear and materials found on Sussex beach cleans. A barn owl, a snowy owl, little or large, screechy or silent, you can bring your favourite species to life with feathery detail and big beady eyes, creating something to treasure from trash washed up on our beaches. A double whammy; you'll be supporting the White Stork Project and keeping plastic out of the ocean! 

This is a relaxed creative workshop where you can embrace your inner child and settle in for some glueing and sticking, explore textures and create a little character from trash that would have been thrown away. Come and meet some likeminded folk and spend a few hours doing something a little bit different.

No experience needed and all equipment and materials provided, including a frame for your masterpiece. Please feel free to bring your own clean and dry fishing gear, beach finds or materials that you would like to incorporate into your design.

Ticket price includes the mini safari, creative workshop and refreshments.
